$1 from every bag you purchase goes directly to educational programs for children in Solai. Because great coffee should do more than taste good.

Amani & Amaya - named for our daughters. Grown by their grandparents.

Stephen and Margaret have farmed this land in the Solai Valley their entire lives. They know these hillsides the way you know your own heartbeat; the rainy season rhythms, the exact shade of red when a cherry is ready to pick, the morning light that filters through the arabica trees.

We named this blend for Amani and Amaya because every sip of this coffee carries something you can't put a price on: the knowledge of exactly who grew it, exactly where, and exactly why.

In the cup, you'll find the bright, vivid character Kenyan coffee is world-famous for. Blackcurrant clarity. A citrus lift. Dark chocolate depth that lingers. And a clean, wine-like finish that tells you this coffee was handled with extraordinary care.

How to Brew:

The art of brewing coffee is the key to unlocking our coffee's rich flavor profile and deep aroma. We always recommend buying whole beans and grinding as you brew. Different brewing systems require different grinds to get the best results.

  1. Water is an important aspect of getting a great cup of coffee. Always use filtered water.
  2. Boil your water to boil if doing immersion or pour-overs. If using a French press coffee maker, bring the water just short of a boil (195-205 degrees). Let the coffee sit for 4 to 5 minutes before pressing.
  3. To keep it simple, measure two teaspoons of coffee per 6oz of water. Adjust to the preferred strength of coffee to water ratio.
  4. Brew to drink immediately or store in a flask to keep the coffee hot for later.
  5. Never reheat coffee as it loses its flavor due to over-brewing. For any leftover coffee, enjoy it as iced coffee.
Check out the brewing standards from Specialty Coffee Association and enjoy geeking out.

These travel French presses also feature a spill-proof combination press & drink lid for outdoor brewing. Enjoy a perfectly smooth brew anytime, anywhere! The lid can be attached for left or right-handed drinkers. Brews a hearty 16 fl. oz.
