Misinformation or Unverified Claims: Avoid sharing inaccurate or unverified information about roasting methods, equipment, or coffee beans.

Overly Technical Jargon: Don’t overwhelm beginners with overly technical terms without explaining them, as it may alienate less experienced members.

Brand Bashing or Negative Reviews: Avoid unnecessarily criticizing specific roasting equipment, coffee brands, or beans. Constructive feedback is fine, but harsh criticism with no solution adds little value.

Off-topic Content: Keep discussions focused on coffee roasting and avoid unrelated subjects like other beverages, personal promotions, or non-coffee-related business discussions.

Promotion of Unsafe or Unethical Practices: Avoid sharing methods that could be harmful, dangerous, or violate ethical standards in the coffee industry (e.g., shortcuts that compromise safety or sustainability).

Personal Attacks or Condescending Tone: Responses should never belittle or insult others, regardless of experience level.

Guessing or Providing Unreliable Information: Avoid answering questions if you're unsure or don't have accurate information to back your claims.

One-Word or Vague Answers: Steer clear of overly brief or vague responses that don't add value or depth to the conversation.

Overcomplicating Responses: Avoid using technical jargon without explanations, as this can confuse beginners or less experienced members.

Being Dismissive or Condescending: Never belittle the question or the person asking, no matter how basic or advanced the question is.

Self-Promotion or Off-Topic Responses: Avoid turning answers into self-promotion or veering off-topic by discussing unrelated subjects.

Speculating on Health or Legal Advice: Stay away from offering medical or legal advice, especially if related to health effects of coffee roasting or consumption.

When a question or answer is upvoted, the user who posted them will gain some points, which are called "karma points". These points serve as a rough measure of the community trust to him/her. Various moderation tasks are gradually assigned to the users based on those points.

For example, if you ask an interesting question or give a helpful answer, your input will be upvoted. On the other hand if the answer is misleading - it will be downvoted. Each vote in favor will generate 10 points, each vote against will subtract 2 points. There is a limit of 200 points that can be accumulated for a question or answer per day. The table given at the end explains reputation point requirements for each type of moderation task.
